September 10, 2007:  A meeting to review forecasts and analysis of transmission in Michigan’s eastern Upper Peninsula was held Thursday, September 6, 2007 at 10am at the Ramada Inn in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Anyone interested in receiving information relating to the transmission operational information that was made available may contact Brett French, ATC regional manager, bfrench@atcllc.com.

July 30, 2007: Ellington-Hintz 138-kV line rating
ATC has improved the summer emergency rating of the Ellington-Hintz 138-kV line from 293 MVA to 397 MVA. Further upgrades are planned for increasing the summer emergency rating to 403 MVA.

May 29, 2007: ATC’s Proposal for Compliance with planning principles adopted by FERC Order No. 890 can be found here.

March 1, 2007:  The American Transmission Company (ATC), along with several Wisconsin utilities, will begin hosting the first of three training sessions on Monday, March 5, 2007 (see attached document). For more information or to obtain a CD of the WSO Spring Session training materials, please contact Pat McMahan at the American Transmission Company at pmcmahan@atcllc.com or 608-877-8111. The CD will include the PowerPoint presentations and support materials (minus the simulation exercises); cost per CD is $150.

February 19, 2007: March 2007 Wisconsin System Operators (WSO) Training Program – Spring Series
The American Transmission Company (ATC), along with several Wisconsin utilities (We Energies, Wisconsin Public Service, Alliant Energy, and Madison Gas and Electric), are hosting three spring  training sessions focusing on generation topics (see attached agenda for dates, topics and speakers). Students attending the program will be able to earn approximately 28 CEHs and 8 emergency preparedness hours. Please note that, while the training is specifically designed to meet the training needs of Wisconsin-based system operators, a limited number of spaces have been set aside for others who may be interested in attending. The registration fee for non-WSO members is $750 per person. More details are available by contacting Pat McMahan, Training and Compliance Project Manager for ATC, at pmcmahan@atcllc.com or 608-877-8111. Registration deadline is March 1, 2007.

February 5, 2007: ATC mistakenly failed to timely update organization chart on OASIS
On February 2, 2007, ATC Management Inc., as corporate manager of American Transmission Company LLC (ATCLLC), posted to the OASIS an update of its organization chart. It appears that the OASIS posting may be two days later than the seven business days posting requirement of 18 CFR Part 358.4(b)(3)(iv).

Organizational changes in ATCLLC’s Asset Management department were made effective on January 22, 2007. While the high level organizational changes were announced to Asset Management department employees, details pertaining to specific job titles were still under review and pending decisions, which were finalized on or around January 31, 2007. A corporate-wide announcement of the changes, and the distribution of the revised organization chart, was done on February 2, 2007. Upon the announcement of the organizational change on February 2, 2007, an assessment of the OASIS posting requirements was made. ATCLLC has conservatively concluded that an OASIS posting update should have been made on or before January 31, 2007. Upon recognition that the OASIS posting update was beyond the seven business day posting requirement, ATC expeditiously made an OASIS posting update which added the revised Asset Management department organization chart to the OASIS site on the afternoon of February 2, 2007.

January 30, 2007: The following notice is being posted at the request of We Energies
“At approximately 0735 on January 30, 2007, the WEC Balancing Authority during the course of routine communications with its affiliated generator operator and generator owners inadvertently disclosed an excursion on the system of about 300 MW relating to an unnamed, unaffiliated generator that at the time remained down. While the WEC Balancing Authority does not believe this posting is required, it is made out of an abundance of caution with the intent of compliance with FERC requirements.”

2006

December 12, 2006: Empire-Forsyth 138-kV line rating
ATC has revised the summer ratings of the Empire-Forsyth 138-kV line to 195 MVA normal, 202 MVA emergency. The summer emergency rating is limited by the line conductor clearance.

December 11, 2006: Flow South Flow gate Rating
ATC has completed the reconstruction of the Plains-Stiles 138-kV corridor which connects Northeastern Wisconsin to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. This multi-year improvement project has resulted in an increase in the normal summer and winter capability of the Flow South flow gate to 300 MW for all seasons.

December 7, 2006:  The American Transmission Company (ATC), along with several Wisconsin utilities, will begin hosting the first of two training sessions on Monday, December 11, 2006 (see attached document.)  For more information or to obtain a CD of the WSO Winter 2006 session training materials, please contact Pat McMahan at the American Transmission Company at pmcmahan@atcllc.com or 608-877-8111.  The CD will include the PowerPoint presentations and support materials; cost per CD is $150.

The American Transmission Company (ATC), along with several Wisconsin utilities (We Energies, Wisconsin Public Service, Alliant Energy, and Madison Gas and Electric), are hosting two winter training sessions focused on electricity basics and real and reactive power theory (see attached agenda for dates, topics and speakers). Students attending the program will be able to earn up to 21 NERC Continuing Education Hours (CEH). Please note that, while the training is specifically designed to meet the training needs of Wisconsin-based system operators, a limited number of spaces have been set aside for others who may be interested in attending.  The registration fee for non-WSO members is $850 per person. More details are available by contacting Pat McMahan, Training and Compliance Project Manager for ATC, at pmcmahan@atcllc.com or 608-877-8111. Registration deadline is December 6, 2006.

Please visit https://www.mcgi.state.mi.us/mivote/voterSearch.aspx to inquire about registering to vote, poll times and locations, as well as how to obtain an absentee ballot.

Please share this invitation with others in your organization that may have an interest in attending this meeting. We look forward to seeing you in Marquette on November 7!  Please see below in the Meetings and Presentations table for location and details.
