Safety is a key priority for ATC, and we are all responsible for keeping each other safe.

We must maintain situational awareness of people and our surroundings to identify and mitigate incidents.

We are committed to creating a workplace that is safe, healthy and injury-free, and we rely on one another to maintain a safe environment and avoid prohibited activities.

Safety guidelines

We conduct our work in a safe manner and follow the safety guidelines that apply to our job. In addition, we comply with ATC’s Safety and Human Performance Programs.

Safety training

We attend and participate in all required safety and human performance training.

Incidents and unsafe conditions

We stop working if a situation appears dangerous or unsafe, respond to safety issues as they arise and promptly report all incidents, injuries and unsafe conditions.

Alcohol and illegal drug use

We comply with company policy regarding the consumption of alcohol and illegal drug use.

Weapons and firearms

We never carry or use firearms or weapons where company business is conducted.


Recognizing Warning Signs

Situational awareness means watching for and recognizing warning signs of potential safety violations or other dangerous incidents. For example, workplace violence may start as negative remarks or inappropriate behavior but can escalate to physical or psychological violence.
