Keeping the lights on…and helping wildlife
During the COVID-19 pandemic, ATC and its contractors are working hard to help keep the lights on for you. Being outside means we sometimes are able to lend a helping hand to local wildlife, too.
On April 2, an employee with ATC contractor M.J. Electric noticed that a deer had fallen through the ice on the Menominee River behind the Waupaca Foundry. He immediately called the Marinette Fire Department.
It took 30 minutes for fire fighters to rescue the deer and get it safely to shore. The fire department stayed on scene for an additional 30 minutes to care for the deer who was suffering from hypothermia. Eventually the deer walked away unharmed.
