ATC named on Great Place to Work® 2014 Best Small & Medium Workplaces List
FORTUNE magazine-published list names the best workplaces in the country
PEWAUKEE, WIS. — American Transmission Co. was named by Great Place to Work® as one of the best small and medium workplaces in the United States on their annual 2014 Best Small & Medium Workplaces list, published today in FORTUNE magazine.
ATC competed against hundreds of companies across the country to receive this honor. This is the first time ATC has been named to the list, a recognition that comes on the heels of being named as one of the 2014 Milwaukee Journal Sentinel Top Workplaces in southeastern Wisconsin.
ATC participated in a rigorous selection process, which included an employee survey and an in-depth questionnaire about benefits programs and company practices. Great Place to Work® evaluated each application based on five dimensions of a great workplace: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.
As ATC strives to become the premier national energy delivery company, surveys such as this help highlight how practices in place at ATC are experienced by employees.
“Every day, we strive to be a company where engaged and productive employees enjoy working. The best way to measure how we are doing is to ask employees for feedback,” said ATC President and CEO John Procario. “We are honored to be named among the best places to work in the country, most importantly because it is our employees’ assessment that put us there.”
Divided into two categories, small (25-250 employees) and medium (251-999 employees), the Best Small & Medium Workplaces list has recognized companies with exceptional workplace cultures for the past 11 years. Great Place to Work® has found that employees believe they work for great organizations when they consistently trust the people with whom they work, have pride in what they do and enjoy their coworkers.
