American Transmission Co. names Mark Davis executive vice president and chief operating officer

Davis is successor to Mike Rowe, who was promoted to CEO

PEWAUKEE, Wis. – Mark Davis has been promoted to executive vice president and chief operating officer of American Transmission Co. Effective May 1, Davis will report to newly appointed Chief Executive Officer and President Mike Rowe, who takes over for current CEO John Procario, who will serve as executive chairman until his retirement on July 31.

Davis will oversee System Planning, System Operations, Construction and Asset Management. He joined ATC in 2006 as director of Asset Management and was promoted to vice president in 2012. He has led the development and implementation of ATC’s Asset Management program that has helped the company earn top transmission reliability scores in a number of recent industry benchmarking studies. Davis joined ATC after a 20-year career with Indianapolis Power & Light Co., where he served in a variety of engineering and construction leadership roles. Davis serves as a leader in a number of industry organizations including the North American Transmission Forum, the Electric Power Research Institute, the Association of Edison Illuminating Companies and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

Davis earned a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering technology from Purdue University.
