Ellen Nowak

Vice President, Regulatory and Government Affairs

Ellen Nowak is vice president of regulatory and government affairs at ATC. In this position, Nowak is responsible for leading ATC’s legislative work at the state and federal levels, developing ATC’s policy positions before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and working with counterparts in the companies of our owners, trade associations, and other stakeholder groups to provide visibility to ATC’s positions and seek strategic alignment.

Nowak joined ATC in July 2023 with more than 20 years of experience in energy and public policy. Prior to joining ATC, she was the chairperson of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin.

In addition to her experience at the PSC, Nowak has served on and chaired several boards and committees related to energy industry including the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners, Mid-America Regulatory Conference and the Advisory Council to the Board of Directors for the Electric Power Research Institute and the Advisory Committee for the Critical Consumers Issues Forum.

Ellen has a law degree from Marquette University and a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee.
