John McNamara is vice president of asset management, responsible for maintenance, asset renewal, system protection, commissioning, standards engineering, vegetation management and reliability performance of American Transmission Co.’s more than 9,530 miles of transmission lines and 530 substations.
McNamara was hired at ATC’s inception as manager of project management and most recently served as construction director for ATC’s east portfolio.
Prior to ATC, McNamara worked at Wisconsin Electric for 15 years, last serving as design manager in the nuclear department supporting Point Beach Nuclear Plant.
McNamara holds a Wisconsin Professional Engineering license and is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
McNamara earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Illinois and a Master of Business Administration from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
