Arrowhead - Weston Project Achieves Major Milestone

The Arrowhead - Weston Project from Duluth, Minnesota achieved a major milestone in mid-November with the energizing of 143 miles of the 345 kV line and the Gardner Park and Stone Lake Substations. This goal was met nearly six weeks ahead of schedule.

The remaining 66 miles of the project are divided into four construction segments. Work in proceeding on two segments: the northernmost segmetn and the segment north of Stone Lake. The A-W Project remains on budget and on schedule with targeted completion before June 2008.

Other highlights include:

  • 75% of the foundations have been poured
  • 75% of the poles have been set
  • 71% of the structures have been strung
  • 36% of the sites have been restored
  • 5 construction segments are complete
  • 87% of the required miles of right-of-way have been obtained
