Project Updates
The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin has approved our application to build a 138-kilovolt transmission line in Door County. The $24.7 million line will run between the Canal Substation in Sturgeon Bay to the Dunn Road Substation in the Town of Sebastopol, primarily within an established transmission corridor. Construction is expected to begin in summer 2011, with an in-service date of June 2012.
The new Fitchburg-Verona 138-kV transmission line was placed in service last month. The six-mile, $18.8 million line came in $3.8 million under the PSC approved amount and will help maintain and strengthen reliability in southern Dane County and northern Green County – an area of the state where electricity use in recent years has grown faster than the rest of the state.

We’ve been recognized as an “invader crusader” by the Wisconsin Council on Invasive Species, a group attached to the Department of Natural Resources. We participated in a group of professionals that drafted best management practices for utility and transportation corridors. Numerous workshops and training sessions are scheduled this summer to educate field crews and the public about invasive species and what they can do to slow the spread.
Customer Connections
ATC Network Customer Meetings normally occur from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. on specified dates, with a teleconference option available for those unable to attend in person.
The Network Customer Meetings scheduled for Thursday, August 12, and Thursday, December 9, have been cancelled. We are currently working to schedule a Network Customer Meeting for October 2010 at our Pewaukee headquarters to replace these two meeting dates. Meeting details and an agenda will be released once the new date has been determined. If you have any questions regarding ATC Network Customer Meetings, please contact Marcia Burbach at mburbach@atcllc.com.
ATC in the Community
With the official start of summer, we kicked off a week-long food drive at our offices in Madison, Cottage Grove, Pewaukee, De Pere and Kingsford, Mich., to collect peanut butter and jelly for sandwich fixings. Employees were asked to contribute their favorite brand of nut butter and jelly, jam or preserves. At the end of the week, more than 170 pounds of food were delivered to Paul’s Pantry in Green Bay, St. Vincent De Paul in Iron Mountain and Feeding America locations in Milwaukee and Madison. More than $600 was raised for these organizations through bake sales and dessert raffles.
