We did it again! ATC named one of the best small and medium companies in the U.S. for second consecutive year

2015 Great Place to Work logo2015 Great Place to WorkAmerican Transmission Co. has been named one of the best small and medium workplaces on the annual 2015 Great Place to Work® Best Small & Medium Workplaces list, published in FORTUNE magazine.

We competed against hundreds of companies across the country to receive this honor to rank among the top 25 medium-sized workplaces in the U.S. This is the second consecutive year we have applied for and received this honor in our 14-year history.

The bulk of the weight of the application came from an employee survey about benefits programs and company practices. Seventy-one percent of ATC employees participated in the survey, and their responses placed ATC in the 95th percentile for positive marks in response to the statement, “Taking everything into account, I would say this is a great place to work.”

“We work hard to be a company where employees enjoy working, and it is through teamwork that we continue to achieve success,” said ATC President and CEO Mike Rowe. “Being named to the list for the second year in a row is certainly an honor, especially because our employees’ survey responses put us on the list.”

Here are a few things that employees had to say that helped get ATC on the list:

  • “What I like most at ATC is an open atmosphere to be able to congeal as a team and work together to perform great high-quality work. That openness allows our department to be more innovative in the way we do our work which in turn allows ATC to be an industry leader.”
  • “ATC provides a unique combination of opportunity, tools, and support to help anyone who is motivated to develop both personally and professionally.”
  • “My leadership trusts me to get my job done without standing over me. They have also given me the tools and the latitude to try new ideas.”
  • “The executive management and directors and VP’s have a very clear understanding of what’s going on in the company and where it’s headed, and communicate well with the rest of the company.”
