VENUS-METONGA

Project complete and in service. Read news release.

Background

A 115-kV transmission line is needed between Monico and Crandon to improve electric reliability in the area. The line will resolve local electric distribution voltage and capacity problems and improve reliability. Wisconsin Public Service Corp., the local utility that supplies electricity to the Crandon and Laona areas, needs to build a new substation in Crandon to better serve its customers. In order to deliver electricity to this new substation, ATC must build a transmission line from its Venus Substation near Monico to the new substation, named Metonga.
