Transmission system upgrade
The electric transmission system that serves the communities of Beaver Dam, Hustisford, Horicon, and central Dodge County currently is operating at maximum capacity and cannot accommodate growth in electric usage or maintain service in the event of an equipment failure. ATC is proposing to construct approximately 15 miles of new 138-kilovolt transmission line to connect a new substation to be located east of Horicon to an existing substation south of Neosho. Depending on the route, the new line may also connect to a new substation in Hustisford.
