Project complete and in service. Read news release.
The transmission lines and substations that serve the communities of Wyocena, Rio, Pardeeville, Cambria and Fall River currently are operating at their limits and cannot accommodate growth in electricity usage or maintain service in the event of equipment failure. ATC will build a new nine-mile, 69 kilovolt transmission line from a substation near the Columbia Power Plant to a substation near Rio. The line also will connect to a new substation to be built in Wyocena by Alliant Energy.
